Please pray for a softening of the birthmother's heart. She has abandoned the process which places the baby (now 18 months) in jeopardy of spending a lifetime in a Guatemalan orphanage. Please specifically pray she will have the strength to not be controlled by a new boyfriend and will subsequently choose to reclaim the baby or complete the adoption process. Prayer request by Heidi Illescas. April 1, 2008 Manuel Vivas (Louis Vivas' father) had a stroke a few months ago. With many prayers, he has been making improvements and getting better. He is currently in a nursing home in D.C. Please pray for his brain to recover from the severe stroke he recently had. Since the stroke, his memory has been impaired, and his clarity in thought hindered more than before. He has several health problems... Parkinson's, dementia/Alzheimer's, high blood pressure, nerve damage that makes him suffer severe pain, Atrial Fibrillation (the condition which most likely led to his stroke), and his border-line diabetic. My father is only 62. All of your support is very welcome and very much needed. Please also specifically pray that my father is able to get better so that he can continue to study the Bible and be baptized into Christ. March 18, 2008 Pray for Desiree Remondini, that God will intervene in a court decision to allow her daughters to attend church midweeks. Pray that the judge will allow a court trial to be heard or to make a change back to the previous child custody schedule without a trial. Pray also that God gives Desiree peace in this challenging situation. March 17, 2008 Pray for Carolyn Malczewski (Susan Malczewski's mother). Her cancer has recently returned, and this time, it is in her liver. She starts chemo in April. Please pray that her cancer treatments go well. Feb 16, 2008 Josiah Jackson has been admitted to the Children's Hospital initially for respiratory/breathing problems. He currently has been experiencing severe abdomen / stomach aches. Please pray for quick recovery and to be discharged from the hospital soon (particularly before Feb 19th, which is his 4th birthday). Feb 10, 2008 Maria Smith's father in Illinois. He has just been diagnosed with an atypical type of lymphoma in his lung. Please pray that this has not metastasized elsewhere. He is scheduled for CT scan of abdomen and brain. The term includes everyone who is a part of the group, but is generally used to refer to the non full time members of the team. The primary function of this group is to provide relevant perspective, input and feedback to the full time staff, ensuring they have congregational perspective on matters pertaining to church leadership issues. These men have years of experience from being disciples and have assumed various leadership roles within the church. These men also give Ruben any personal input they feel necessary and would be the group that would determine whether he would need to step down from his position if that ever became necessary. While "CLG" is not in the Bible, leaders are and must be oversight within the church. "CLG" is simply what we call the leaders whose function it is to help provide church oversight. This is a temporary leadership structure as these men will step aside once God raises up elders within our congregation who will then assume their role.
